A Process is a collection of Process Elements (workflows, activities, work products, roles, phases, milestones, guidance, practices, and other elements) that are defined in the process Metamodel. Process elements can be linked with other elements through Associations (e.g. a role is responsible for an activity).

As this terminology can be customized, each Stages installation might use slightly different process elements.

Processes can only reside within a Workspace. Within a workspace, a process can have multiple versions (see valid version and working version).
