The important components of the system are located in a folder referred in the following as <STAGESHOME> . The tomcat application server used by Stages is located in the tomcat subdirectory of the installation path, referred in the following as <TOMCATHOME>.

For example, if you choose the standard path on Windows, then <STAGESHOME> would be C:\methodpark\stages, the default <STAGESHOME​​​​​​​> for Linux or UNIX is /opt/stages. For the rest of the document, the path names are shown with slashes. Use backslashes for the Windows names.
