Which version should we use?
When to use Version 7.12
Version 7.12 contains the latest innovations, like the AI-enabled chat assistant, the Open REST API, and the latest tool integrations.
If you are starting with Stages, we recommend to use 7.12, if you are prepared to upgrade to 7.13 within three months when it comes out. If you use the Stages Managed Service, you do not need to worry about upgrading anyway.
When to use Version 7.11 (LTS)
Starting with version 7.7, the Stages release frequency was increased. This means that previous releases will drop out of maintenance earlier than before.
We are aware that not all our customers are able to frequently upgrade their system. For those customers, we will keep Stages version 7.11 under Long Term Support (LTS). An LTS release will be maintained for at least two years until a new LTS release will replace it.
So even if versions 7.13, 7.14, etc., are released, version 7.11 will be under maintenance at least until 2026-10-31.
So if you are starting with Stages and will not be able to upgrade within a year, we recommend to use version 7.11.
Can I still use Version 7.10?
Version 7.10 was only maintained until 2025-03-31. If you are still using it, you should plan to upgrade to 7.11 as soon as possible.
How long can I still use Version 7.9 (Previous LTS)?
Support for version 7.9 has ended on 2025-03-31.
Customers still using version 7.9 should plan to upgrade to the new LTS version 7.11 as soon as possible.
When to use Version 6
Customers should not use version 6 anymore. For all customers that still use version 6, we strongly advise to upgrade to version 7.9. Due to technical limitations, we are not able to guarantee compatibility of version 6 releases with modernized infrastructure requirements (e.g. new browsers) or other security dependencies (e.g. database server, application server, or 3rd party library versions).
